All money problems are thinking problems. If there is lack in your life, there is a thought or belief that is blocking the flow from the abundance that is available to you at all times.
You are a child of God, with a very rich Father. You have everything because you were given everything when you were created: light, holiness, love, the power of God, the peace of God. Not only were you simply “given” these things, you ARE these things. So you have and you are everything.
If you are in debt or worrying about money, you have forgotten this simple fact of your identity in God and your inheritance. You have forgotten the truth of what you are. It’s like the Prodigal Son story. You have a very rich father and you wandered far away from home, with the belief that you could do it better alone.
As you wandered alone further and further away from your home into darkness, you squandered your inheritance until there was nothing left.
But your home still awaits you. Like the prodigal son, you need simply stop what you are doing, realize your way is not working, and then turn your direction around and go home to where your Father awaits to welcome you with open arms.
My Decision To Deal With My Money Block
In 2012, I made a decision to deal with my money block. I knew conceptually through my work with A Course in Miracles that my external situation and conditions were a reflection of my inner thoughts and beliefs. At that time, I had very little money and credit card debt that I had been ignoring for 10 years.
For most of my life, I have told myself I don’t need money. I also had the belief that you have to work really hard to have money.
Once I was on a spiritual path in my twenties, I really intensified my efforts to push money away from me. I thought that good spiritual people didn’t have money, that whatever money they did have: they gave it away to the poor.
I thought that having money was a sign of all things bad.
These were my private beliefs. I thought of Jesus tipping over the money tables in the temple and I took this as a sign that Jesus’ message was that we shouldn’t be working and that we shouldn’t have money. That we should “give everything away and follow him”. I used bible verses and lines from A Course in Miracles to tell myself that not having money was a good thing. I would say things like, money is an illusion. The world is an illusion. I’m not a body. I am free.
I felt that somehow poverty was a sign of my advanced state of mind.
I laugh now at these kinds of thoughts, having seen how radically transformed my life has become, but I seriously believed these ideas for much of my life.
In the spring of 2012, I said: ENOUGH.
My life is dedicated to God and to the mind-training of A Course in Miracles. I spend almost all my time “testing out” and experimenting with the ideas contained in the book. I often feel like “a scientist in the field” taking an idea and applying it to situations in my life.
The one part I didn’t experiment with was with money. I felt a lot of shame around having money. I thought people would judge me if I had money, that it would be a sign that I was greedy, selfish and worldly.
Meanwhile, I didn’t have money to pay my bills. I didn’t have money to put gas in my car. My website would often be shut off because I didn’t have the $10 to pay the monthly fees to keep my blog up and running (that was back in 2004 when it costs $10 a month to have a website). Someone would then send me some money to pay the fee and turn the blog back on. This was my life for years. I thought: if it’s needed (for me to have gas in my car, to have a website), the money will come.
I had a “let’s wait and see what happens” approach. I let the outside world and external events determine what happened in my life, rather than the other way around.
Seeing New Possibilities
Once you begin to shift your state of being – your mindset – your entire experience begins to change. You become aware that everything in the universe is energy (light) and instead of holding it in (hiding the brilliance that you are “under a bushel”), you put that light on a candlestick and let it shine. Rather than clinging to your old patterns of fear, you allow yourself to see new possibilities for your life.
I did a video where I tell the whole story of what I did specifically. It was a 5-week experiment, in which I became a different person. You can watch the video for free by entering your name and email.
We are coming up on 2018 now.
Let this be the year that you change your mind and the world you think you see changes.
Imagine feeling connected, centered and clear. Imagine feeling strong and confident and happy. Think about what it would be like to tap into greater abundance without working harder, without effort, but rather through relaxation and removing your own internal blocks to abundance and joy.
So often we go through life in struggle-mode and when things are not working, we just push harder. We put in more hours. We wrack our brains to find ways to make more money, improve our health, resolves our issues of boredom, stress and anxiety. When you try to fight energy (which is what stress is, going against the natural flow of life), you end up feeling tired. It’s hard work trying to be the ruler of the universe, making things go your way.
What If There Was A Better Way?
What if instead of struggling “to make something happen”, you took the time to get quiet enough to discover what the blocks and obstacles are in your thinking that is causing lack and limitation?
Does that sound like something you are ready to take on?
If so, watch my Prosperity Process video. I will share my personal transformation experience with you and exactly what I did… and you will also be given the opportunity to go through a 7 week process for yourself.
The new year is a great time to make a big change in your thinking. Click here to watch the Prosperity Process and start that process for yourself.
And, as always, I’d love to hear from you.
Question: Were you able to see a new possibility for yourself after reading this post? Are you ready to give up your thoughts of lack and limitation? You can leave a comment by clicking here.
Here’s to a prosperous new year!
